Fact of the Day More Information Remy Bricka started in the Canary Islands off the Coast of Africa and set ski for Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. Bricka was equipped with tools for fishing, navigating, and water purification on a raft towed behind him. Some argue that he may have simply floated on the raft, but either way he made it to Trinidad in only 40 days.
He was found delusional and emaciated by a Japanese ship in the Caribbean. In that state of mind it is somewhat understandable that his first words after the journey were a frantic, "I saw trolls attack my legs!" [source].
Before the expedition, his claim to fame was the fact that he was L'Homme Orchestre or as we say in english, a one-man-band.
