Fact of the Day More Information Edison's General Electric Company brought electricity to the game but only in DC (direct current) form. George Westinghouse debuted his alternating current (AC) soon after.
To save his DC current, Edison started slinging mud in Westinghouse's direction. He wanted to make AC seem too dangerous for people despite the fact that it was more economical.
