Fact of the Day More Information Found in Clonycavan, Ireland, the mummy appropriately takes it's name from this town. Remarkably, gel was used to support his hairdo.
The mummy and its hair were well preserved in a peat bog (vegetable remnants and the like). Before the discovery of the Clonycavan Man (2003), many believed that the mohawk came from the Huron Native Americans in the Great Lakes region.
